Who needs toys….

August 18th, 2006

When you have food! He’s easily amused, I guess, as he can spend large amounts of time stacking all of his baby containers from the pantry, over and over again.

I’m adding this to Jules’ Everyday Things, celebrating the simple little joys in life today as I’m so thankful for his wonder in the little, simple things, not needing fancy toys or expensive entertainment to be amazed.

Remember when life was this simple? Keep that kid playing with simple toys as long as you can, Mama Duck! In the age of entertainment via television, video games, iPods, etc., using the imagination for play seems to be becoming a thing of the past.

Love the stacking! Love the innocence!

Sweet. We didn’t have those but I remember my eldest daughter dumping out my pan cupboard in order to teach her baby sister to make music withthem.

And, it just occured to me that my almost 5 year old is similar in this. With all the blocks and lego’s in his room he chose to make things with his honey graham’s yesterday. I even wrote a post about it, it was too funny.

He’s a cutie! My nephew is more satisfied with one of his spoons than pretty much anything. It truly is the little things in life!
