WFMW - towel hooks!

July 5th, 2006
What works for me wednesday

Despite my mother’s best efforts, I never have been able to get all my towels hung up nicely on towel bars every day. This has only gotten worse with Lil’ Duck’s arrival, as all of his towels are hooded and therefore not conducive to towel racks. So when we moved in here and painted both bathrooms, we gave up on towel bars altogether and put hooks up instead - relatively plain, brushed metal hooks that were on clearance at Target for $1. You could always go fancy if it works for your style too.

When Lil’ Duck is a bit older, we’ll put one down low so that he can hang up his own towel of course ;).

Be sure to check out the rest of the Works For Me Wednesday tips as well as the rest of my blog while you are here!

I love this idea! I am sure it was a woman who invented the hook in the first place! So much easier.

You must have fun giving Lil’ Duck his bath. I miss the hoods on the towels. The hook idea would definitely work for me. Thanks.

Hooks are a girl’s best friend next to safety pins! *wink*
    I played. Pam

Good idea! We use a combination of towel bars and hooks - it’s the only way to keep everything hung up around here!

Same here. And it is easier for the little ones.

Good suggestion! My kids are fans of the hooded towel, too.

My kids are terrible at getting towels on racks. I should do this!

Hooks are an excellent idea! I really hate those towel bars!

Great idea! I might have to try this in our bathrooms!

I just posted my first WFMW. Stop by and take a peek. :)

I love rule breakers! That is a great way to solve the problem. Why have towel racks if they are never used?

Thats what we have in our bathroom too! I love it! We also have designated a hook for each person and a different color towel for each person….so the kids know which towel is theirs and which hook…..so they are responsible for making sure their towel is hung up…..it really helps me out!

I deplore towel bars. We have hooks everywhere! Laundry room too.

Great idea. Maybe if I put up hooks the kids will hang up their towels. They’re not quite big enough for the towel rods.

We now have hooks in the kids’ rooms so that when they go into their rooms to get dressed after their baths, they have somewhere to hang their towels. That way, they get off the floor and we don’t end up getting a fresh towel every single time they take a bath (like I don’t do enough laundry!). Hooks are the way to go. :)

This is a great idea…..my son’s towels all have hoods too and it’s annoying trying to hang them up LOL
