WFMW – my living room art!
Wow, Wednesday again! I’m behind today on posting this too! Anyway, during the tour of homes, I got a lot of people asking about my living room art – those canvases on the shelves that are really hard to see in this photo! I’d considered just painting something myself, so I bought the pre-stretched canvases on the wooden frames and all that. Then I was at the fabric store looking for pillow coverings (those pillows on my couch used to be a scary beige stripe and others were navy blue) and I found some wonderful heavy fabric. SO….. I cut the fabric to size and used a staple gun to attach it to the back of the frame, and….. cheap art!!
Have a great Wednesday – check out the rest of our blog, bookmark us so you can come back and see us later (we do post all week, hee hee) and then go visit the rest of the Works For Me Wednesday tips for some great ideas!

You are a smart Mama Duck! I never would have thought of that.
Love your living room, btw!

I wouldn’t have thought to pain one wall red and one green- but it looks awesome.
Neat idea! I just saw in a scrapbook mag that they took paper and mounted to foam core board to create art.
This is a really great inexpensive idea!
I love the colors!! Beautiful!!!
Skated over here from Casting Call thats a fun little thing. Your home is wonderful.
I dont’ wanta talk about mine lol I injured my back 7 months ago and still can’t bend over. So the men in my life think if you pile it up or kick it under something its clean. AAArrrggg……. I guess this is my lesson in something. I just have not figured it out yet.
Your living room looks SO CUTE!
You have a gorgeous living room, and the canvases are really pretty! Great idea!
Is your wall lime green? It looks that way in the photo and that is great! I love bright walls. We had an orange living room when we lived on the east coast, and loved it so much that we painted my daughter’s room orange before she was born.
I.
Love.

(The rest is great, too)
MY human pet is always looking for cheap ways to decorate her house. Hmm…wait a minute. I think that may have come out wrong. Nonetheless, I will tell her about this as it sounds too cool for her to miss!
Very cute living room! Here today from Wendy’s place!
Great tip! Thanks for sharing!
I was posting my WFMW at Shannon’s and saw yours – and WOW, we are so on the same wavelength this week.
I’ve never thought about using fabric – that opens up a whole new arty dimension. And now I’m finally off to look at your house – and I know that I am in for a treat based on this picture.
Great, great idea -
‘mornin’ duck! what should I make for lunch? I could warm up the leftover pizzange in my freezer… I’ll just post the recipe.

I LOVE the colors you chose for your room!!! Fab!
Wendy directed me here!!
You know, I thought about it, and since my human pet hasn’t finished the venetian plaster in her master bathroom, is it possible we could pay you to come and teach her your wisdom? She needs a lot of help as I’m sure you’ve already deduced!
Back again from Wendy’s!
Would $1 squillion dollars be enough for your services? I could always set up a wire transfer!
Back again from Wendy’s!
What a terrific idea! I have so many fabrics that I love, too!
Ha ha ha, fabric is one thing, venetian plaster truly another, she has my sympathies! I’m just doing well to get paint on the walls and clean up the mess afterwards…… and do define a squillion, as it sounds wonderful, I’d be taking a vacation somewhere COLD to get away from this heat!!
Squillion is a word thought of by another feline blogger named William. It means something along the lines of a lot, though I do feel it probably means something closer to “way more than just a lot as in this-is-too-much-to-count a lot”.
Hmm, it seems my last comment got lost somehow. I’ll try again! Squillion is more than a lot but less than infinity. How does that sound? So it’s definitely a BIG sum of money!
That’s a great idea. I always see fabrics that I like but don’t know what I’d do with. Now I know. Thanks.
Here via Wendy’s but you know I’d make it over anyway!
Wow! You sure are creative! I need to get some of that flowin through me. I’m always so envious of people who can make somthing beautiful out of a few odds and sods.
Me, I just steal other peoples ideas.
The only thing is that I’m scared of staples guns ever since I saw Lethal Weapon. They’re dangerous!
Ha ha ha! I actually had my husband do it, as it was killing my hands trying to do it and get it tight enough down in there. I also used it to recover my bar stools which you can somewhat see in my kitchen photo on the tour post. They are just red to match the kitchen tho, nothing too crazy, I didn’t really need to call attention to my cheap wal-mart bar stools, hee hee.
Back again from Wendy’s! I did add your site to my list of Cool Human Pet blogs. That way, when this is all finished, I can still come by to visit!
That’s a terrific idea! Maybe I’ll do that for our bedroom…it has very bare walls!
I just saw your third Wordless Wednesday photo of the Duck, and it is PRECIOUS! The shades make him complete!
Back again from Wendy’s!
Such nice bright colors. Very nice.
Here from Wendy’s.
the art is great and I love that it is inexp. I think I may try this for my kiddo’s room.
well aren’t you clever AND talented!! great idea
Very clever! Your room looks fantastic! Thanks for sharing your tip.
Simple and beautiful!
I’m going to have to try this! What a great idea–looks lovely!
Thanks for visiting my WFMW today!
I’ve been toying with using fabric stretched over frames like that. Yours look great!
Very cool and creative. I love your colors. Very nice living room. So cheerful and bright. Love it!
I love the apple green! It is one of my favorite colors. It goes with so much.
Wow, I love it! So easy, and so cool-looking!
I think we have the exact same couch. I still have the scary beige-stripe pillows, although now, they’re mostly just used to build forts with. And spill Kool-Aid on, apparently.
That idea ROCKS!
Great art! My walls could definitely use some color.
