First aid trick for little ones

My little guy is always cutting, biting or smashing his lips/tongue/cheeks/you name it – he’s a busy little guy and always into everything. To help with the bleeding and pain, popsicles are our friends. Not only because they calm him down and because it’s probably the only way I could get ice in there, but also because the sugar helps to stop the bleeding! Learn something new every day, eh? Just don’t let them suck hard on it, as that will just make things worse…

Great suggestion! If I had a little one (mine are all grow up now) I’d surely use that one. Maybe I’ll put it in my “future grandma” file.

    My first WFMW is up!

We are big popsicle fans here. They are cheap snacks, all kids love them – and now we have a medicinal reason to keep them on hand! Thanks for sharing!

Great tip– I’m sure I’ll use it soon (little E is about to start walking). I didn’t know sugar stops bleeding. Very cool. Can I have a popsicle too?

p.s. My WFMW made me think of you.

I didn’t know sugar helped stop the bleeding, either. Great tip! And I’m always looking for excuses to keep the freezer stocked with popsicles. :)

I never knew sugar helped stop bleeding. I usually use empty film containers to make ice and my my kids love to use the funny shaped ice for fixing aches and pains….

I did not know that sugar helped stop bleeding! My kids are forever getting bloody lips, so this tip is going into action probably way too soon for my comfort! Thanks!
