Tomato Vodka Sauce
1 Tablespoon butter
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1 onion, chopped
1 (28 oz) can peeled and diced tomatoes
1 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup vodka
1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Salt & Pepper to taste
1 lb. Penne pasta
In large skillet, over medium heat, melt butter with oil. Add onion and saute 8 minutes or until transparent. Add tomatoes and cook 25 minutes or until almost no liquid remains stirring frequently. Increase heat and add cream, vodka, and red pepper flakes. Boil for 2 minutes or until thickened to sauce consistency. Serve over penne.
I sometimes brown some hot italian sausage and add that in. This is really easy and really yummy!

Yum! I might have to try this. Anything with vodka is good lol.
OK…this sounds much better than the Paul Newmann Vodka Spaghetti Sauce I bought the other day…ackkk! I was so disappointed!! I’ll definetly have to try this one..thanks!
I made this tonight with onion flakes, because I didn’t have an onion…. and a 14 oz can of tomatoes and no vodka(this here is a dry house!) I didn’t have red pepper flakes either….Still,
It turned out super good!
Thank you!!!!
ps…I added a tiny bit of garlic powder too!
