My son loved #1. I do not even know how many times I have read it to him.

I cannot read, “I’ll Love You, Forever” without crying!

Thursday Thirteen has come to an end.
I have enjoyed my visits here and consider us friends.
Thank you for sharing your thirteens with me.
The comments you left me filled me with glee.
It is hard to believe it is really true.
I am trying very hard to not be blue.

  4. Thanks for sharing these. I have long been without a toddler till recently I had 2 grandsons. This will be a great help to me.

  5. Oooh, love a lot of them! I have the copy of Are you My Mother that was mine when I was a kid, even! (that and The Best Nest, another favorite around here)

A snort? A snort is my mother?

    LOVE IT!!

Happy TT! I hope you’ll keep visiting West of Mars. You’re welcome there, you know.

  6. kristarella says:

I don’t have a toddler yet… perhaps I will keep this in mind for friends’ babies :)
I haven’t visited in a while. Looks like you have a lovely site and business going!

  7. When Bry-onicle was a toddler, he loved Are You My Mother. I had to read it to him at least twelve times per day!

  8. John says:

My favorite children’s book is Mike Mulligan and his amazing steam shovel…I’m not even sure it’s published anymore. But it was the first book I remember reading.

    My 13 are up.

  9. Christine says:

What a great idea for a TT. I have grown-up books on my posting this week. My mother passed away from dementia and congestive heart failure at the end of November – so the Robert Munsch book “I’ll love you forever” now, more than ever, has special meaning for me.

  10. YoungMommy says:

Great list… There are several we need to check out! Thanks for sharing.
    Happy final TT!!

  11. Rose says:

I’ll Love You Forever is my fav book. lol I had the honor of interviewing Robert last year.

  12. KarenW says:

  13. Michelle says:

I can’t read I’ll Love You Forever without thinking of Joey reading it at Emma’s party on Friends!

  14. Loretta says:

Are You My Mother is a great one! :)
    Goodnight Moon
and Moo Ba La La La are faves for me too!

I hope that Thursday Thirteen doesn’t go away. I contacted Leanne and I’m determined to rescue the thirteen if I can!

  15. carmen says:

i can’t remember the name of it, but I like the one that has the bunnies and the baby bunny tries to tell his mom how much he loves her, but she always loves him more. :)

  16. Wonderful list! I’ll love you forever is my all-time favorite children’s book.

I am glad to have met you through the TT and I am really going to miss it.

  17. Char says:

Anything by Kevin Henkes (Sheila Rae the Brave, et al) is tops in this house.

  18. Carrie says:

Wonderful suggestions! I have to agree with you on them!! Great list!

  19. Nancy says:

I love #1. Some of these are new to me. Lots of good stuff coming out for kids these days.

  20. Peg says:

What a great list! I absolutely LOVE “Stephanie’s Ponytail”! And Sandra Boynton’s Books…and Munsch’s Books…and…and…How did you limit yourself to just 13? LOL

  21. We’ve got tons of books here, but there are some on your list that we don’t have that we could check out. (-: Love Miss Spider!

  22. Lisa says:

My almost 2-year old LOVES Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems? (I think?). Our copy is not a board book and it is about to fall to pieces. I will have to check out the ones on your list that we don’t have.

  23. bernie says:

Sometimes reading these you realize are more for your benefit than for the toddler’s.

I linked to you from 13 things 23

  24. David says:

Fun list. And “The Little Engine That Could” spans age interest beyond toddlers. My Wonder Woman read it to an bunch of elementary children the other day and got great reviews from the kids. ;-)

  25. Amy says:

We bought the “Big Box of Boynton” set. Sydney absolutely loves “Barnyard Dance.” Thanks for all of the suggestions. It is really helpful since she is our first and my sisters have been out of the toddler books for years now!

  26. shannon says:

Great list. We have several of them. May I also recommend:
    1) Farmer Duck
    2) Baby says, “More! More! More!”
    3) We’re Going on A Bear Hunt (MY personal favorite!)
    4) Walter the Farting Dog

    Happy Thursday!

  27. CyberCelt says:

Are you my Mother is a book I remember from 17 years ago. I cannot believe Dr. Seuss is still popular.

    Here from BCs.
