Thirteen things thrown at Mama this week…

February 28th, 2007

The little one has been in a disobedient, throwing, sassy mood this week as he recovers from his cold. Now, he is duly punished for all this, I don’t just put up with it, but you might find this amusing….

  1. Cheerios
  2. Weebles (NOT as cute as you might think, those things HURT)
  3. My cell phone
  4. Ducky. Usually used by whipping him around for the sneak attack.
  5. Diapers. Thankfully unused. He prefers never to be changed, although he doesn’t like sitting in a wet/unclean diaper.
  6. A shoe! Thankfully, Crocs are lightweight….
  7. Pillows. Many, many pillows. This is usually a game though, to be fair.
  8. Paperback books. He has a great fascination with Daddy’s books, but isn’t always as gentle as he should be - hence the reprimand, then the throwing.
  9. Sippy cups! Usually when empty. Of course, he stopped this very quickly when he realized that the sippy was NOT refilled when it is thrown at people, but that it is much better to ask Mommy with a hug and kiss and a “pleeeeezzzzzeeeeee!”.
  10. Leapfrog alphabet letters. Apparently the “E” has offended his very nature.
  11. Pajamas. These are never to be worn by the toddler, as he never sleeps. The very mention of sleep will start a tirade, the end of which shall never be seen.
  12. Clifford!
  13. Darth Vader (on a magazine)

Aren’t you so thankful for toddlers!?! :)

My son stepped on my barefoot with his baseball cleats. I do not cuss, but I sure thought of “those words!” I had a bruise for a week! Haha!

Ooh, man. Your little one is BAD. I had it easy compared to you — and believe me, I’m thankful for it!

    Happy TT!

Wow! You are getting an aerobic workout dodging those. At least he’s throwing soft, lightweight things; be thankful toys aren’t cast metal any more! You hang in there, and drop by if you get a chance. Happy TTing,
    Dk

I remember the sippy cup throwing. That is not a fun parenting event. I’m sooooo glad those days are history….at least ’til my kids have kids. Maybe I’ll secretly encourage the throwing! Heehee!

LOL - sounds like you are a target for many very creative projectiles! I’m curious to see what kind of things my baby will decide to throw at me when he’s older.

Today Little Man and I were playing a game of catch with a new ball he got. Man, he’s got quite an arm. He whipped that thing at my head and hard!

My TT of thirteen reasons to keep a journal is now up! Enjoy.

My soon to be 19 mos old doesn’t really throw things yet. She does like to take off her pj’s and YELL NOOOOO and push me away when she’s in a cranky mood.

My TT are up too - mostly pictures this week.

    Enjoy!

14 months old and the size of a peanut our darling daughter is just trying out throwing things…however she does not like the reaction she gets from daddy and mommy (although older brother just sits there and laughs)…

  21. Comment by Cheryl on March 1, 2007 1:22 am

I hear you about the weebles. Though it’s usually my 10-month-old who is on the receiving end.

  22. Comment by carmen on March 1, 2007 7:57 am

The pillows might not be so bad. ;) At least they’re soft.

Oh, yah, fun. I have 7 kids, you can imagine the things we’ve had thrown at us, lol.

  27. Comment by Carey on March 1, 2007 11:24 am

Sounds like it was a difficult week. I hope you weren’t hurt by any of those flying objects.
At our house, trains tend to be the throwing choice.
    Happy TT.

Thats an awesome list! I’m sorry that you had a big red dog thrown at you!

  38. Comment by Bee on March 1, 2007 9:50 pm

I bet your getting pretty good at dodging! If not at least wear a helmet, and as a side note make sure if you chose this option you take the helmet OFF before you answer the door. It takes far too much explaining if you don’t -trust me ;)
