Thirteen favorite “toys” of the week

  1. The wooden train from the dollar section of Target….
  2. Also the wooden fire engine from the same section….
  3. And the wooden ambulance there as well – all three were 1/2 off, the best $1.50 I’ve ever spent. They have to go everywhere with us and must sit in his carseat in the car.
  4. The Little People cars – complete with a puppy driving them. He especially likes “driving” them on his car rug.
  5. A bubble-bath-filled car (Lightning McQueen) with real wheels – drives all over my coffee table and watches the Cars DVD with great delight.
  6. Ducky, as always.
  7. Clifford, as always.
  8. A calculator, stolen from Daddy, that opens on its own when you push a button.
  9. His own slip-on shoes – taken on and off numerous times a day, usually on the wrong feet.
  10. Diaper wipes and a plastic container – endless entertainment! At least he puts them back….
  11. Daddy’s new baseball hat from work – makes for hilarity when placed on Mama’s head, apparently.
  12. The salt shaker – apparently it must not be filled with salt, for the salt must be shaken onto everything, including into Mama’s purse, to be discovered at odd moments…..
  13. The spinning light-up Nemo thingy from Disney – complete with new batteries, it is again wow-inducing.

My two year old is into spices this week. So far, I’d suddenly ran out of garlic powder, paprika and black pepper whole.

Coincidentally, I noticed a bunch of spices near my trash can…all mixed and played out.

I just saw all of the wooden trains and things in Target’s dollar section. They will make GREAT stocking stuffers. I love the dollar section.

I think human children require much more work. My children only thought my tail was a toy…

Just one thing: It only takes simple things to make a child happy – and I wish I were a child again :)

    Thanks for stopping by.

Paper bags and boxes, empty spools, wooden spoons, anything but what is IN the package.

I have to admit that one of the best things about teaching nursery (kindergarten) is the Lego!!!

My TT is up there too

Forget what’s in the package. The package itself is the best toy with my kids, ages 5, 3 and 2. We recently bought my daughter the Cook n Grill super deluxo play kitchen, complete with a grill, sink, microwave, cabinets, lots of cool fake food, etc. The unit cost us some $160 before shipping. All she wanted to do during the first week as the recipient of said expensive birthday gift/toy was hide out in the box giggling.

I miss getting toys for Christmas. ;) Well, at least the less expensive ones. Now I’m all about cameras, computers, etc. Hehe.
