It's worked so far for us...like you said..chewing it is better than nothing right?! I forget easily. At least now that I have some older kids, they remind me. I take turns wtih my 2 year old also...she gets to do it and then I get to do it. It seems to work for us. I personally am an oral hygiene fanatic, and I try to impose that upon my children. But, to no avail.
