I always try to get a gift that is a little different, yet practical for the Mommy. What do we always need? Soft blankets and burb cloths – not ordinary ones, but extra soft and oh, so cute ones made by Bel Scriba Bakery.

Susan and Lynn have designed a cute presentation to these quality products. The sweet baby items are designed from top to bottom using only the best ingredients including a dash of happiness, a pinch of love, lots of sprinkles of sweet baby wishes and the secret ingredient of Binkeez™ and Burpeez™. The Binkeez™ are handmade, 100% cotton flannel, machine washable blankets that are 44″ x 44″, which makes them a wonderful size for swaddling the little one.

Lil Duck loved to be swaddled and was always “breaking free” if the blanket wasn’t large enough, wish we had a Binkeez then!

The Burpeez™ are handmade, 100% cotton flannel, machine washable burp clothes that are 18″ x 10″. Burpeez ™ also have a triple layer design for absorption but at the same time also provide a baby with a super soft resting place while they await that burp.

We could have used the extra size and absorption for Lil Duck also…

You can request custom embroidery and select from their wonderful “flavors” (pink, blue, neutral pastels or honey colored 100% organic). An additional “ingredients” list you can choose from are numerous, including the most adorable fluffy animals .

You will be most pleased with the cake style presentation – I am not even going to wrap the one I am ordering for an upcoming baby shower, it is too cute (see it wrapped here)! Well, you just have to see them for yourself at Bel Scriba’s Bakery!

We absolutely enjoy working with Susan and Lynn here at Lil Duck and we know you will not be disappointed with them or their product .

For this game you’ll need Life Savers Wintergreen or Peppermint candies and Jelly Beans or Hot Tamales Candies and a hot glue gun. THESE ARE NOT EDIBLE!!!!

Put hot glue on the small end of a jelly bean or hot tamale candy, stick it into the hole of a lifesaver, now fill the bottom of the hole of the lifesaver with glue add another lifesaver standing on it’s side. Now you have a pacifier! Add a ribbon through the hole of the standing lifesaver to make a necklace or bracelet.

Now when anyone says “baby” during the shower, someone will catch them and take their pacifier. The one with the most pacifiers at the end of the game wins the prize!

How to help your furry friend adjust to the new family member:

Bringing a newborn into the home is exciting, but it can also be a major upset for the family dog, especially if he’s used to free reign in the house. Fortunately, Canine behavior specialist Kelly Beasley of Camp Bow Wow can provide dog owners with easy tips and tutorials for getting Fido on his best baby-ready behavior:

Bring your furry friend to the vet for a check up and vaccination update.

Nip bad behavior in the bud. Visit an animal behavior specialist to make sure your pal knows how to mind his manners!

Bring on the crying! Get Fido used to hearing baby noises months ahead by playing recordings and turning on baby gear like bouncers and swings.

Get into a routine. Although junior may not arrive for another few weeks, get your furry sidekick used to baby activities to make the transition easier. A great tip is to carry around a toy doll and use the stroller on your afternoon walks.

Make sure your furry pal does not get lost in the shuffle when you arrive home from the hospital. Greet him with a warm and calm welcome before introducing him to the newcomer.

Lastly, don’t forget about your furry friend when creating your birthing plan. Make sure Fido has a place to stay, like Camp Bow Wow, which provides your pup with a friendly and warm home away from home. Camp Bow Wow also makes a great reprieve for overtired new parents.

For more information or to schedule interviews with an Animal Behavior expert from Camp Bow Wow please contact Kate Dowdle
