Still not supermom….

Still woefully behind on everything around here. Lil’ Duck was back to the doctor yesterday because he’s still got a junky cough, so now he has MORE medicine. Every time I give him medicine, he gets better at resisting, so it is becoming a much-dreaded event in our house. I also had the supreme joy of hassling with the insurance company, the doctor, and the pharmacy to actually get this new medicine – over 24 hours later, we finally got all the forms in the right places.

Anyone who wishes to bring a shovel or blowtorch to clean my house is more than welcome. As the little one still refuses to nap today (why, oh why, must all his medicine hype him up?!!!), nothing is getting done around here like it should. I have six main e-mail boxes, each containing hundreds of neglected e-mails, so if one of them is yours, I apologize. Any e-mails containing orders or money will be given priority attention, for those of you wishing prompt attention ;) .

Now, any tips for getting the little guy to take a medicine packet of granules (mixed in food preferably, but also can be dumped down his throat) in the EVENING of all times?? I’m thinking maybe applesauce, though his refusal of food in the evening is supreme even without the addition of the much-hated medicine.

How can a baby LOVE chocolate but hate grape-flavored medicine, anyway??

I am so sorry that Lil Duck is still sick! There’s definitely a strong flu season making its way across the country. I don’t know of any good suggestions for the little one as I don’t have any children, but perhaps peanut butter might work for the granules?

I hear you on the no nap thing. Julia has been giving hers up. Ugh!

Sorry that Lil Duck is sick. Nate went to the Dr today and has strep!

As for medicine tips put it in:

    chocolate pudding
    favorite yogurt
    applesauce
in super small amount of favorite juice
    ice cream

Or you could do like my stepmother. Take and draw up some plain chocolate syrup into a syringe then add in the meds and top off with a little more chocolate. Then squirt it into his mouth.

    Good Luck!

What you need is chocolate-flavored medicine. I have no clue why drug companies haven’t figured that one out.

Pookie is the worst at spitting out medicine. The only thing that works is putting it in chocolate pudding or ice cream. We figure it’s only for a few days and he is insanely good at not taking medicine.

I used to be so freakin’ paranoid about our house if I knew someone was coming over. I’d take half a day off of work to get the place looking presentable. God forbid that anyone would just show up on the doorstep unannounced.

Since our daughter came along, my priorities have now changed and I’m like “pffffffffffttttt” if I know someone is coming.

I’m sure you’re doing great. If all else fails get yourself a snazzy cape. ;)

I like your products page. Very nice work.
