Kool Aid is no match for the Ammonia and Water mixture. When I put the iron onto the towel, I was skeptical – when I lifted up, I was AMAZED. I’d tried 6 different brands of spot remover / carpet cleaner…none worked ($30 later). Ammonia was $1.20, and got the job done!!

I was excited to find this information, but I had to make a few compromises. I didn’t have ammonia, but I did have Windex with ammonia, so I used that. I sprayed the red juice pop stains with the Windex, set a towel over it, and set my steam floor mop on it. I left it on there for a few minutes, and when I lifted the towel, the stain was gone! I was amazed… Seriously it was that easy.

WOW!! A big jug of Gatorade leaked on my tan carpet and mat in my Mercedes. I tried every suggestion I could find on the internet. Thought I was going to have to replace the carpet and mat. The ammonia / iron combo worked!! Amazing…THANK YOU so much!!!!

I came across this site looking for a way to take red koolaid out of my carpet. I tried Kristen’s method and it came out completely. Thanks for the good advice.

This worked Great!!! My little cousin spilled strawberry sunny-d on the carpet and after cleaning it with tons of cleaners such as oxy-clean and Resolve which picked up most of the dye but still left a pink hue. Once we tried this all of the pink came right out….it worked great! thanks so much for the tip now I know what to use on all my spills!

I tried almost everything and every cleaner to get out my red kook aid stain and nothing worked. Then I found this post and tried the ammonia and hot water and WOW it really worked. Wish I would have googled this alot earlier. BUT THANK YOU

Thank you for the fantastic information on removing koolaid. I had a crystal light drink in the car and it fell all over the carpet and came home, and the fibers would not even budge. But, after reading this, I soaked it in ammonia, and with the white towel and at first nothing happened, but it took about 7 to 8 tries over the same spots and this was over a big area of my passenger car floor that was drenched in this thing and I am happy to say that after 40 min, non stop with hot iron and back and forth, 98 % is gone. There is about 2% still left, but I plan to rest up, and try again tomorrow to get the rest off of it, just amazing, amazing, and amazing, my carpet was a light blue, so you can imagine the damage of seeing bright pink carpet all over the bottom floor of my 2009 vehicle. It is a miracle, and thank you so much for being out there and putting this great information out there.
