Quacking about the future plans of Lil Duck Duck
June 5th, 2006Darren at Problogger.net has launched another group writing project, this one involving a post about goals for your blog. I’d encourage everyone who reads this to also post about these goals, as I think it is a great idea for everyone, adding focus and clarity to your blog and allowing you to clearly state your intentions.
Anyway, about Lil Duck Duck. My first goal with this has always been to keep it managable, as it comes after the little one himself and his mommy time. If it starts taking over my time with him, it isn’t worth it to me. I know that is an odd thing to say, that my first goal is not to spend too much time on it, but I think it can truly take over and you can lose sight of real life and priorities.
Other goals:
- Continue my everyday posts about giving up soda pop
- Post daily advice about toddler-related subjects (this is working toward a bigger goal of becoming a reference site for toddler advice)
- Post daily about Lil Duck’s adventures (which also serves to give me an outlet for my frustration with his constant disasters and antics).
- Traffic-building
- Continuing to work on ad placement and optimization in order to increase my ad revenue.
What are YOUR goals for your blog?? Post them on your blog and let me know!

“Post daily about Lil Duck’s adventures (which also serves to give me an outlet for my frustration with his constant disasters and antics).”
Thats really unique. Never seen that on a blog.
Since I have a toddler, I couldn’t help but poke around your blog. Interesting, especially this: http://lilduckduck.com/protein-options-for-the-picky-toddler/
I’ve been having a lot of trouble getting my daughter to eat. She is so picky. Thanks for the advice.
in the words Arnold, “I’ll be back.”
I can totally relate to where you are coming from as I also have small chidren who demand 100% of my time when I arrive home from work.
It is a fine balance between family time and trying to put a half decent posting together which normally happens at the later part of the day when you are least productive.
No doubt the niche for toddler advice will be popular due to the fact that everyone’s child is so different, everyone tends to look for similarities to their own children for finding solutions to their own frustrations.

You better hurry to document stuff your toddlers do, because they tend to grow out that phase quite quickly. Then to get new first-hand material, you just have to get some new toddlers, which might be too big a “task”.
Jarkko, I understand your point, but being that he isn’t even two yet, I imagine I will have at least another year of toddlerhood, and then another year of still being cute enough to write about ;). Thinking beyond that, who knows, it’s hard to say that far out, but I’m sure I can expand it or get a guest writer or have someone else take it over even, or I might have another toddler by then (oh goodness, but then I wouldn’t be here because I’d be going CRAZY). I think it’ll work out ;).
