Cookies & Tracking
SiteMeter tracks user traffic patterns throughout our site. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. SiteMeter does break down overall usage statistics according to a user’s domain name, browser type, and MIME type by reading this information from the browser string (information contained in every user’s browser). It also sometimes tracks and catalogs the search terms that users enter in our Search function, but this tracking is never associated with individual users. We use tracking information to determine which areas of our sites users like and dislike based on traffic to those areas. We do not track what individual users read, but rather how well each page performs overall. This helps us continue to build a better service for you.
A cookie is a piece of data stored on your hard drive which contains information about you and your computer. The information collected is in no way linked to any personally identifiable information while on our site. You are free to block cookies from our site if you don’t wish to use them.

If a user’s personally identifiable information changes (such as your zip code), or if a user no longer desires our service, we will endeavor to provide a way to correct, update or remove that user’s personal data provided to us. This can be done by e-mailing Customer Service.
Registered users who no longer wish to receive our newsletter or promotional materials may opt-out of receiving these communications. Simply reply to the message and enter the word “unsubscribe” as the subject line. You may also unsubscribe by e-mailing Customer Service. Users of our site are always notified when their information is being collected by any outside parties. We do this so our users can make an informed choice as to whether they should proceed with services that require an outside party, or not.

Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law where we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our website.
