Playdoh?? Not in my house!!

July 4th, 2006

Anti-play-dohSome mommy friends of mine were discussing how wonderful play-doh is and how much their children love it. They claim that their little ones sit and make Elmo with all his body parts out of playdoh, squeeze it, shape it, build with it, etc. - yeah right.

I think they are secretly plotting against me, hoping that I will innocently purchase bright colors of play-doh and find my house brightly colored with mashed bits of the stuff in everything. I can tell you what Lil’ Duck would do with it, and no good would come of it. I know what he already does with all of his food, unfortunately I can’t stop feeding him though…

Playdoh does keep them entertained but oh how i hate to clean up the mess. I don’t take it out unless they are driving me absolutely nuts.

Yes, it does keep them entertained, but I agree…it is HORRIBLE to clean up. I haven’t bought any in a long time, nor do I plan to. It took me too long to get it out of the carpet!

I don’t like it either. But, I’ve let the kids play with it. If it gets on the carpet, let it dry and then vacuum it up. If they don’t clean up when they are done with it, it dries up, we throw it away, and we don’t buy anymore for a long time.

Thanks for reminding me to change the TT link. There’s so much to do when you move. :)

homemade playdoh is better……much better……and if it gets eaten, not a big deal….just flour, water and a little oil I think…..much much better…..doesn’t get as sticky either….
