Lemonade Themed Game Ideas:

Lemon Toss

Things you’ll need:

  1. A large spoon and bowl
  2. 3 plastic or real lemons
  3. Lots of small prizes

How to play:

  1. Line the guest up, single file.
  2. Put the pail several feet away from the first guest.
  3. Have each guest try to get the lemons into the bowl, using the spoon to throw them.  Award a prize each time someone gets a lemon into the bowl.

Lemonade Pixie Relay

Things you’ll need:

  1. sticks of lemon flavored Pixie Sticks candy, each child will need at least one
  2. 2 big bowls
  3. 2 plastic spoons

How to play:

  1. Before the guests arrive, make two sets of start and finish lines, around 20 feet apart.  Place the bowls on the finish lines.
  2. When ready to play, divide your guests into 2 teams and line each team up at the start line.  Tell the children that you are going to give each person a Pixie stick, but tell them not to open them. Then give the each guest a Pixie stick and the first guest in each line a spoon as well.  When you shout, “Lemonade Pixies, go!” the first guest in each line should open her Pixie sticks, pour out the candy onto the spoon, run to the bowl, and dump the candy in.  Then each person should run back and hand the spoon to the next child in line and so on.
  3. If any child drops her spoon, give her a new Pixie stick and send them back to the start line to begin again.
  4. To win:  The first team to have every team member dump their candy into the bowl wins.

Cold Ice Cube (version of “hot potato”)

Things you’ll need:

  1. ice cubes (or a small white box that for a “pretend” ice cube)
  2. some sort of music playing system
  3. some fun children’s music

How to play:

  1. Have children sit in a circle, give the birthday girl an ice cube, and start playing music.
  2. As music plays, children pass the ice cube around the circle.  When you stop the music, the child holding the ice cube is out and leaves the circle.  To start play again, restart the music.  You will probably need to take ice cubes from the children who are “out” and give someone who is “in” a fresh ice cube.  No skipping anyone in the circle!
  3. The last person in the circle wins.  Give the winner a prize.
