O Christmas tree…how messy are your branches…

December 11th, 2006

Christmas tree photochristmas tour of homes*Edited to say, I’m making this my Christmas Tour of Homes post because alas, I’ve been too busy with orders to decorate more than my tree. I had such fun with the previous Tour of Homes that I couldn’t resist doing this one!*

Nevermind that Lil’ Duck decorated the bottom half, especially the random bits of snowflake ribbon, or that the bookcases behind fail to contain all the clutter in my life. Presents are coming soon, I’ve been too busy to shop or wrap, but I anticipate having more time next week.

I’m just thrilled to have bought my very own tree this year - in the past we have had various hand-me-down fake trees, including a memorable pre-baby year where we literally broke the white tree that has been in my family since I was little. I guess hanging several heavy ornaments on a three-foot tree really wasn’t the way to go. Then there was the hand-me-down tree from the in-laws attic which made me sneeze incessantly, despite vacuuming it several times, that also fell apart at odd intervals.

This year, not only is it a brand-new, 100% ours tree, but it is also pre-lit. No more wrapping, untangling, bulb-finding, tree-tipping nightmares for us, only a beautiful plugging in of the perfectly placed strands and light for all! I’m definitely loving it just for that (storing it might be another matter, but it does fold up nicely back into its box).

Leave me the link to your own tour in comments and I’ll come visit you!

You forgot to mention how your DH went and picked it up for you and set it up for you and how you are enjoying it now. :-)

    Your Christmas tree looks neat!

We use to get real trees (advantage of living in the Pacific NW), but it has become too muddy with all the rain and three little monsters running every where.

Your tree is very pretty. Thanks for sharing. Mine is up too, stop on by.

We finally decided on a pre-lit artificial tree. The only thing is that it’s so tall it doesn’t fit in the house. The top 6″ is bent over. Oh well . . .

Thanks for entering your tree in the contest! Good luck!

I don’t care what you say, It’s very pretty! :D my ornaments are slowly migrating north since my toddler and kitten are making a sport of knocking the lower ones off.

  8. Comment by Leslie on December 12, 2006 11:47 am

The bottom half of our tree is naked. Julia keeps ripping the ornaments off and putting them in various hidey holes around the house. The top, however, is beautiful!

    lovely

Tell Lil’ Duck that the bottom part of the tree looks WONDERFUL! :)

  11. Comment by dawn on December 15, 2006 9:38 am

The wonderful years of all the ornaments being on the bottom can never be replaced - and the years where they all have to migrate up so they won’t be broken and harm the little fingers. Happy memories. Enjoy! Thanks for stopping by.

I saw all your comments that the tree was the only decorated thing in your house and was going to say “chop, chop Mama Duck, get decorating”, but now that I see it’s because you are busy with orders, I say “chop, chop, Mr. Duck and get busy decorating”:) Your tree is beautiful. Thanks for sharing and have a blessed Christmas.

Thank you for visiting me! And what a lovely tree! I’m so jealous that yours is prelit. Mine is a handme down from my parents that has to be put together 1 branch at a time. Ugh!

  27. Comment by Jennifer R. on December 15, 2006 9:57 pm

What a PRETTY tree! Thanks for stopping by!

Great new pre-lit tree! We put lights on our tree the hard way. :)

I let Snuggle Bug decorate the bottom part of our tree as well. The only problem was is that he was more interested in taking ornaments OFF the tree, rather than putting them on.

Thanks for taking the time to stop by and see my 2006 Christmas Tour of Homes decorations! I do appreciate it!

    Merry Christmas to you!

  29. Comment by Tammy on December 16, 2006 2:10 am

Lovely tree! :D We’ve only had the real ones, but I do see the charm in having it prelit and everything! If only the houses you buy came with pre-lit roofs! :D

Thanks for stopping by today! Merry Christmas!

Yeah for new trees! Especially if you don’t have to string the lights yourself. That is my least favorite part of the holiday.

    Merry Christmas.

Your tree is beautiful! Thanks for sharing, I hoping to purchasing one of those pre-lit trees one of these years at a fantasic after chrismas sale! No lights to untangle sounds like a dream come true! This year we bought a real tree from some friends who have a small christmas tree farm.

    Hope you can stop by!
