How to give up caffeine, Day 4

Other than the residual grogginess from the cold medicine I took last night (ugh, stupid cold, how much longer will you plague me?!), I’m actually feeling rather alert this morning. Today I’m substituting “the new all-natural 7-up” for my Dr. Pepper - definitely not the same, but at least something to hydrate me for the day.

Surprising to me was the comments that I’ve received about this already, especially the number of people who say that they could never do it. David at Third World County had to be all smart and profess his love for coffee, Kristin at Eva Las Vegas is trying a more gradual approach (which she confesses isn’t easy as well), and Emily’s mom is trying to kick the sugar habit (brave soul).

I’ve surprised myself by going this far, rather sad to admit that with still 26 days to go, but I’ve never before been able to go more than a day or two. I don’t see failure in the near future, and at this point I’m feeling quite positive about being able to do this for the full 30 days. Of course, I do have to stay awake to do that….. ;)
