Fruit Dip Fluff Recipe
April 29th, 20071/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. light corn syrup
1/4 c. hot water
1 stiffly beaten egg white
Dash salt
Few drops vanilla
1/2 c. mayonnaise
1-1/2 t. shredded orange peel
In small sauce pan combine sugar, light corn syrup and hot water. Heat slowly, stirring till all sugar is dissolved. Then, boil without stirring until mixture reaches soft-ball stage (236*). Gradually beat hot syrup into stiffly beaten egg white. Add salt and vanilla. Cool mixture thoroughly.
Fold mayo and shredded orange peel into cooled mixture; chill thoroughly. Serve as dressing on fruit salad. Makes 1-2/3 cups.
