Front porch Monday…

August 21st, 2006

front porch daysEveryday Mommy has started Front Porch Mondays with the question, “If money and time were no object, what would your ultimate dream vacation be?” Click the graphic to head over there and add your answer, or respond on your own blog. While you are at it, pull up a chair, grab some coffee (it’s Starbucks!) and tell me about your plans for the week.

My lofty goal this week is to finish my holiday card designs which should have been done already & to get my family healthy for once! We’ve been battling a cold for weeks now and it’s just a miserable thing. As for our dream vacation, I’d love to travel Europe, see all the sights, all the different countries.

Stick around for a while - read our previous post about fire hydrants, check out the lizard adventures from Saturday, I’m making oatmeal raisin cookies and Lil’ Duck would love a playmate this morning!

Wow, that’s funny I was thinking over the weekend about making oatmeal raisin cookies…wish we were close enough to come right over….
    Blessings

My plans for this week are simple: I want to get the research finished and have a good first draft of my post for the 2,996 Project. It’s definitely a humbling experience, and I really want to do the best job I possibly can. Aside from a few diversions as I consider what I’ll write, I don’t intend to plan anything else until I have that done.

You are sick, you spend seven hundred and thirty hours per day cleaning up messes, and you still have energy to write posts for your blog. That’s impressive, but how many extra shots do you put in your Starbucks? Or do you have an arrangement with barista brat to mix you up a special drink?

Good luck with the greeting card designs! Perhaps Little Duck will wear himself out long enough for you to finish them. Oh, wait, then you’d have to clean up whatever he was doing when he wore himself out! Whew, I don’t know how you do it.

Awww, I wish you were closer as well ;).

I really admire you doing that 2,996 project. I’ve seen it around the blogs of late and it is a wonderful way to remember, I wish you well in writing it. As for energy - just one cup of coffee most days. When my husband is home, I get a lot done, so I’m hoping to finish up most of the designs today, on his one day off. Otherwise, something suffers, whether it is the little guy (ok, not suffering, but not total Mommy attention all day as he would like), the house (never clean, but sometimes somewhat clean), or work ;).

Lil Duck did wear himself out, actually he’s asleep on the floor at my feet, hee hee hee.

A trip to Paradise sounds nice! Warm Ocean Breezes, plenty of sun. My daughter wants to learn how to snorkle, and see all the ‘lil fishes and sea life.
I haven’t decided on either , Australia or Tahiti, the Caribbean, or Hawaii….Decisions, Decisions…Since money is no object, I’ll just go to them all!! Have a great Monday!!

Europe seems to be a common one. You could spend months and months there and never get bored.

Not fun when everyone’s sick. And it seems to drag on forever, doesn’t it? Hope you all recover soon.

And I hope you make it to Europe someday. It’s nice to dream but it’s even nicer when you can figure out a way to make the dream happen.

My plans? I plan to get on top of some heavy cleaning around here this week. And I’m factoring in a trip to Borders to buy the second two books in Francine Rivers’ Mark of the Lion trilogy AND Redeeming Love. Should be a quiet week for me which is exactly the way I like it!

My plans for this week are:

    1) Avoid being stepped on by the human pet when she walks through the front door Monday thru Friday.
    2) Eat a tremendous amount of crunchies so as to infuriate the human pet at my massive appetite.
    3) Take numerous poops that I refuse to cover with the litter that the human pet buys.
    4) Get yelled at for sleeping on the kitchen counter tops even though no one was even home to remind me not to sleep there in the first place.
    5) Annoy my sister, Isis, until she is too frightened to come out to play.

I think that might be a very eventful week for me!

You’re cards looks great! I should follow your example and get started on mine as well. :) I usually wait until the last minute, and everyone on my list gets Christmas cards around New Years. :D

*Sighs…I think if I was rich, I’d still eat noodles. :D

Very odd that I can’t think of a dream vacation. I think I just want to vacation at home really. Something really low key. Every time I go away I come back to an overwhelming stack of responsibilities to catch up on. I want to have a vacation where I feel refreshed.

I would love to pack up the gang and bring everyone over for a real playdate with Lil’ Duck. My three guys would have a great time playing and my girls absolutely love little guys. Then you and I could really “chew the fat” for a while. Ah well, a cyber-date will have to do.

My plans for the week? getting ready to start school next Monday. Today was a wash because I had to take my 11 yr. old to the doctor (again!) for an ear infection. At least this time we got something to make it go away. And then we HAD (wink, wink) to go see “Over the Hedge” at the dollar theater - Mondays we can all see a movie there for only $3.50! How could we not?

Hopefully there will be enough time during the rest of the week. .

MMMMMmmm…Starbucks Coffee, sounds GOOD! And the cookies, oh do they smell delicious! My plans for the week are to stop procrastinating and start packing LOL We’re supposed to be moving to a bigger house on Thursday, and I just started packing today! *wishing for moving men to appear on my doorstep* My best friend came over and helped me, we got quite a bit accomplished, but I’m telling you, it will not be done until the VERY LAST MINUTE! LOL. I wonder why we feel the need to accumulate so much *stuff*?
