Easy Fried Cabbage
January 25th, 20081 onion, chopped
3 T. vegetable oil or bacon drippings
4 cups coarsely shredded or chopped cabbage
Salt, pepper, sugar, nutmeg and a dash of vinegar to taste
Saute onion in oil for 3 minutes. Add cabbage and saute for 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Add seasonings. Cover and allow to steam for 5 more minutes. Makes 4 servings.
