Ducky moments in time…

43

Problogger has another group writing project out – this one is on the topic of lists, which the ducks just love – easy to read and all that. We have all our Thursday Thirteen lists already, ranging from wows of the Lil Duck to the sweetest comments I received, so I thought I’d make a list of some of my favorite posts for all the new readers around here, just to change things up a bit.

The Starbucks post is sweet, and chocolate pudding – what were you thinking? Sure makes for a cute picture though.

  2. my fave is the one about developing your toddlers musical abilities. my daughter is 13 though. do you think those suggestions would work on young parakeets? ;-)

    best – michael

Those Ooooh Baby days are why the starbucks and pool days are soooo worth it :)

I love these! However you know, I’ve been longing for children, and some of these make me wonder why! ;) *kidding!*

Thanks for popping over to visit my list for the writing project. And stop using to-do lists for scrap paper! ;) LOL

  5. D.T. Kelly says:

These are fantastic! But I have to admit the Starbucks one is my favorite. It is a precious time to watch your little one “discover” things for the first time. I’m still doing this and loving evey minute of it.

  6. phd says:

Thanks for stopping by and letting me know of my firefox problem. Should be almost all better now :-)

  7. andrew says:

Thanks for checking out my list post. You’ve got a great site and an adorable little ducky. :) My wife and I don’t have kids yet, but having watched our niece for the past 5 years, some of these moments seem oddly familiar…

  8. Rick says:

These are great stories, MamaDuck. I gotta agree with 1gir2boys about the chocolate pudding!

This blog will be better than a baby book when Lil Duck grows up and has his own children.

  9. MamaDuck says:

LOL re: the chocolate pudding, he’d eaten it without incident at his table on the kitchen tile before, I went into the other room for a few minutes and came back to that mess. Who knew?!

  10. Nathaniel says:

    Hi Mama Duck,

Those are great stories you picked out! The chocolate pudding mess is priceless. :)

Thank you for the comment. I know what you mean about posting for the sake of posting; I’ve done the same thing with past blogs. Sites like ProBlogger are great for inspiration, though – yesterday, I wanted to blog but didn’t have a clue what to write until I saw Mr. Rowse’s contest. :)

  11. I obviously like 5 ways to develop your toddler’s musical abilities. :-)

  12. mooiness says:

    Hi MamaDuck!

You know, I’m nowhere near ready to be a parent yet. And after seeing some of your posts up there, I’m not sure if I’ll ever be ready. But at the same time I can see how much joy Lil Duck brings you.

Thanks for the inspiring posts! :)

  13. Jersey Girl says:

    Love the keyboard decor post!
One of my two sons never slept either…have heart, at 15 he can sleep all day and night now!

  14. makingitbig says:

I must admit, even though it is way too expensive, a Starbucks fix is a must for me every so often.

Those grande raspberry mocha frappucino with whip and chocolate drizzle. Mmm mmm mmm.

  15. Gleb Reys says:

This list was suggested by you Just in time! We’ve got a lovely princess which has just turned 6 months, so I’m really excited to learn about your blog! :)

    THANKS!!!

  16. Nice idea ;) … he he

  17. Kerri says:

LOVED the drama of the nap. Funny story, and reminds me that I’m not the only one going nuts with naptime. And I love the Christmas cards. Adorable!!!

  18. Jaclyn says:

Ooh, the pudding. All your stories are great and give me a peek at what’s to come for me. My daughter is already a mischievous girl (she can climb and get on furniture, too! Yikes!) and I know I am in for a lot of crazy moments like yours. So cute that you call him Lil Duck.

  19. freedumb says:

Hey There! Thanks for stopping by my blog…I can imagine lil duck takes up a lot of your time! Brownie is no easy task, but a human baby…I can’t even imagine. :)

  20. I love the pictures on your site and I’m thrilled to see another parent-blogger. I recently wrote a post on how working from home can bring work-life balance:
    http://www.consultantjournal.com/blog/become-a-consultant-big-list-of-reasons

I have not yet dared make chocolate pudding, given my own toddler’s disastrous tapioca hair shampooing incident. :)

  21. Nancy says:

Oh wow, that chocolate pudding pic… one of those moments you don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. :)

PS – This is such an adorable site — I love all the photos!

  22. love the pudding pic! same thing happened when my little one grabbed some chocolate ice cream from my bowl while i was talking to mommy – big mess….

  23. Martin says:

The Starbucks is the one for me – that’s me right now with a 5 year old girl – treasured moments.

Before it was all about you, now you live for them … but an occassional Starbucks (or for me, Borders) treat does wonders for the soul.

And as you sip your coffee you relaize they’re growing up sooo fast.

    What a journey, eh! :-)

  24. Laurie says:

I especially enjoyed “Ooooh, baby.” Just wait until he’s 16. He’ll be like he is now only flush with hormones.

  25. Nice pictures! Very cute.

  26. you have some great posts there. I love when Lil Duck destroyed your house room by room! :)

  27. Ooooooh. I thought my son was a brat, but little duck has him beat. I’m amazed at how much trouble boys can get into. My daughter never got into as much trouble when she was a toddler, but my son jumps and climbs on everything and has managed to break his collar bone before the age of two.

  28. Ray Dotson says:

Great list! I have a few toddler stories of my own to tell (I have six children!). You’ve got a great site here and the design is awesome. Keep the great articles coming.

Oh, and thanks for checking out my blog!

  29. Liz Strauss says:

How did you do that. In just those few sentences, you brought back my son’s entire childhood up to his 21st birthday earlier this month. Thank you. That is some writing.
    Liz

  30. Nice list… My favourite is the “5 ways to develop your toddler’s musical abilities”! You know, I always get sad when I think how much my older daughter simple ignores music. And I always tried to stimulate her…

But the list is a good advice for everyone who cares about his kids sensibility to music.

    Thanks,

    Helder Sanches

  31. John says:

Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment. I think that listening to multiple genres of music is a key to encouraging musical ability early on. It should be good for developing the brain generally.

  32. Damien says:

An interesting idea. Why didn’t I think of making a list of posts?

Anywho, good stuff, and thanks for stopping by my blog. Good to see a familiar face (or name) in this round of submissions.

  33. Jennie says:

What a cute idea for a list! great list and blog :D

  34. Becky McCray says:

    Oooh, baby! is my favorite!

You know, it caught my attention because you put that “flag” next to it. Just a tip for us all on our lists, flag the special ones to added attention!

  35. haha great list and very cute :)

  36. Tim says:

That’s a nice collection of posts. Seems like a good idea to have a blog about the lil ducks.

Duck…duck…goose! Thanks for commenting on my list.

  37. Phil Nash says:

Lovely posts! I’m not a children person, but I was compelled to read your favourite posts. Particularly “Ooooh, baby!” who thought that one small child could cause so much trouble!
Thanks for dropping by my blog too!

    Phil

  38. Steve says:

What a great post and certainly puts a smile on my face. As always compelling reading.

  39. Kelly says:

Thanks for stopping by my site Mamaduck. I loved your article, “The eternal hunt for the cell phone”. You made my day!

  40. Alan says:

Thank you for your visit on my list post. :) I find your “eternal” search for your cell phone to be awesome!

See ya around. Oh and light blue colors are awesome.

  41. the Wandering Author says:

HeHeHe! Those were some pretty funny posts. I think my favourite was Oooh, Baby! although your eternal hunt for your cell phone was a close runner up. Perhaps the cell phone makers need to design a new model, with a built in tracking device – oh, wait, he’d just hide the tracker, too, wouldn’t he.

Thanks for stopping by to check out my list, and I’m glad to hear the scammers never got you. Although I’m probably on some scammer’s list now, for giving away their nasty little secrets…

  42. Hendry Lee says:

If there is a nomination for the most active list submitter, I would definitely choose you. I’ve seen you everywhere on the blogs which submit the entries.

Btw, thanks for your comment for mine too.

    I appreciate that.
