Crispy Peanut Butter Bars

1 cup sugar
1 cup light corn syrup
1 cup peanut butter
6 cups Rice Krispies
2 cups melted chocolate chips

In a large saucepan, combine the sugar, corn syrup and peanut butter.
Cook over low heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat
and add the cereal; stir til well covered. Press into a greased 9×13
pan. Melt chocolate chips and spread over bars. Chill.

Cut after a couple hours and refrigerate until serving.

Blessing Cardstock Baby Boy AnnouncementThis precious little boy’s arrival is celebrated in a folded or double-sided flat 5×5 card (printed on 110 lb. slight gloss finish card stock), using all four panels to showcase his photos & information. A chocolate brown background makes the sepia photos & light blue text pop out. The front panel of this card features a simple “Love, Joy, Blessing, Hope…” with the baby’s first & middle names at the bottom. The inside left panel features two photos of the two brothers, with customizable quotes about brotherhood (this can be changed to suit your family & can use up to 4 photos with or without text). The inside right panel features a custom verse at the top - in this case, “Our Newest Blessing” - which is then followed by the baby’s birth information & family names. Then the back panel has a sweet sleeping photo of the baby, with an optional custom verse or initials beneath (1 Timothy 1:14 was used in this case).

The custom saying on the front is accompanied by their names & wedding date, while the inside can be left blank so that you can add a personal note. The back has a simple “made with love for _____ ” statement on it, but can also feature a photo or custom saying. This can be designed as a double-sided flat or a four-panel folded card, in a horizontal or vertical orientation as best suits your photos. Meal Planning and Saving on the Grocery Budget

What takes so much time and is repeated over and over again daily? Providing food for ourselves and our families. While I enjoy many of the household tasks, menu and meal planning along with the decision making of what to eat has always been my least favorite task.

Ok, I’ll admit it, I hate meal planning. Oh, I’ve tried many plans and systems over the years and nothing has worked …until this easy to use plan. I have been using E-Mealz for awhile now and it not only works well for us, it is saving me money as well as time and aggravation. Read more…

Honey-Glazed Roasted Vegetables

1/4 cup honey
1/4 cup olive oil
3 Tbs wine vinegar or balsamic vinegar
1 clove garlic, crushed
Salt, pepper, and dried thyme to taste
4 cups mixed halved red potatoes, sliced zucchini, thickly sliced onions, red peppers, carrots, sweet potatoes, sliced eggplant, or other vegetables

Mix all ingredients except the vegetables. Put vegetables in a roasting pan; brush honey mixture over all. Bake at 400F degrees for 30 minutes, stirring often. Makes 4 servings.
