• 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
• Cooking spray
• 1/2 cup chopped red onion
• Salt and pepper to taste
• 1/2 tsp dried thyme
• 6 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves (I use 3 since there’s only 3 of us eating, but I keep everything else the same because the sauce is yummy)
• 1/3 cu seedless blackberry preserves
• 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
Various tips from mothers…
- Tide with Febreze
- Bleach on whites, Clorox bleach pen on white parts of clothes.
- Using cold water, pre-treating with the Dreft or Clorox Oxy-something spray, and washing in Dreft. I put it on the stain treat cycle of the washer.
- I keep a bucket full of water with a scoop of BIZ in it.
- Baby OxyClean
- Pretreating with a toothbrush and Tide, then soaking them for a few hours before washing.
Ah, the joy of the toddler mind. He comes up with the funniest things to say and do, entertaining us every day. He delights in climbing up on the counter at every chance he gets, as well as climbing up jungle gyms and anything else he can find. However, he’s currently screaming at the bathtub because he “no want to fall down” the drain. Now, it doesn’t keep him from getting into the tub, from asking with each breath if he can take a bath, or demanding one the instant Daddy steps in the door. But it surely does make for interesting conversation during the bath….
“No want to fall down. Drain scary”…… “oh no, ducky no fall down”…. “no want to fall down!!”
“You won’t fall down, it’s ok!”
“No want to fall down… no want to fall down, please no fall down, no like it, drain”
Repeat this about 100 times, then tell me that you aren’t either crazy or finding a nice pair of noise-blocking headphones. Oh yes. Then do it again tomorrow…. and the next day….
If only toddlers listened to reason. Or realized how small those little holes in the drain really are. No amount of showing him how his little toys won’t fit, of avoiding draining the tub while he’s around, and other reasonable approaches seem to stall the endless flow. You’d think he’d drive himself crazy with the endless repeating…
1 (3-4 lb) lean beef roast
½ cup soy sauce
1 beef bouillon cube
1 bay leaf
3-4 whole peppercorns
1 tsp dried crushed rosemary
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp garlic powder
Hoagie buns
Sliced Swiss Cheese
Remove and discard all visible fat from the roast. Place trimmed roast in a slow cooker. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, bouillon, bay leaf, peppercorns, rosemary, thyme, and garlic powder. Mix all together and pour the mixture over the roast. Add water to almost cover roast. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 10-12 hours until meat is very tender. Remove meat from broth, reserving broth. Shred meat with a fork and distribute on rolls for sandwiches with cheese. Use reserved broth for dipping.
