Coral & Aqua Birthday Party Ideas

Picking the perfect theme for your birthday party can be tough! Sometimes you want a unique combination of themes (such as an owl princess, bunny garden or ladybug cupcake), or special colors to match your favorite shades, or your child’s nursery theme / bedroom decor. We have gathered some of the best coral & aqua birthday party ideas here, just to make your event planning a breeze.

Coral & Aqua Birthday Party Ideas - Owl Themes, Unique Colors

The combination of these trendy colors are a fun twist inspired by Pantone’s colors of the year for 2016. Those colors are all about making your party plan ideas simple, focusing on the joy that you share in the company of your family and friends. For the coral colors shown here, a lighter version of Peach Echo adds a fresh spring touch. Paired with the oh-so popular aqua, the exact hue was created to be a darker shade of Pantone’s spring 2016 Limpet Shell – crisp & clean like the rain showers of the season.

To make a complete presentation, your party needs themed decorations! Let’s start with the garland pictured here from Sheep Farm Felt on Amazon. With wool straight from the sheep on the farm, no knots and adjustable width on the 9′ long strands, this is a naturally matching decoration for your perfect aqua & coral party theme. It pairs beautifully with handmade streamers & banners, like the spring hand dyed fabric rag garland pictured from PenelopeandLala. Adding some party fans, balloons and paper lanterns in your theme colors can complete the look.

Beginning your event with this special theme sets the stage for your whole occasion. Start it in style with our personalized birthday invitations (including any secondary theme that you prefer, such as adding an owl theme in your custom colors, like these sweet owl birthday invitations that are shown above). Keep the same style from start to finish with made to match favor stickers, return address labels & of course, matching party thank you cards. Since we custom make every order, your personal designer will make sure that your coral and aqua invitations compliment your decor & the rest of your theme. Every one of our card designs can be changed to have your unique matched colors, theme & styling. For these coral owl party cards, a patterned background serves as the backdrop for a scalloped, parchment style area where a scrapbook style owl and ribbon graphic perch. Your custom provided wording ensures that you have exactly what you want and creates a precious keepsake.

For your party refreshments, echoing these fresh spring theme’s colors are a cinch! An aqua lemonade recipe is as simple as adding blue raspberry Kool Aid to lemonade (pick your favorite mix, as any lemonade with a yellow color will work). To add a bit of flair, dip the top of the glass in lemon or lime juice (or rub one around the edge, squeezing gently to add moisture), and then dip it in sugar.

For your coral & aqua party food, an easy way to echo your theme colors is with Kool-Aid or jello popcorn!

The Kool-Aid version gives you softer, close to pastel colors (unless you supplement it with food coloring):

Kool-Aid Colored Popcorn

  • 2 cups of sugar
  • ⅔rd cup of butter or margarine
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 6 quarts of plain, already popped popcorn
  • Two packages of Kool-Aid (in the color of your choice)

Preheat your oven to 225° F.

Combine the sugar, corn syrup and butter (or margarine), heat to boiling and boil for 3 minutes.

Use one very large or two large ungreased, shallow baking pans to spread out your (already popped) popcorn.

Then in a separate bowl, mix together the Kool-Aid & baking soda.

Remove the sugar syrup from the stove and carefully stir in the Kool-Aid mixture (it will puff up and is very hot, so be careful!).

Now take this sugar mixture and pour it over your popped popcorn. Stir gently until it is all evenly coated.

Put the popcorn in the oven, cook for 30 minutes (stirring every 10 minutes or so).

Then remove it from the oven and break it up into small pieces.

A different take on this same idea is to instead use Jello, which gives your popcorn a brighter color (depending on the flavor chosen, of course). This JELL-O rainbow popcorn recipe includes peanuts, which can certainly be omitted if you have any allergies.
