New year’s resolutions, goals and dreams for the new year, ordering my life, things and possessions, new start in the new year, keeping my new year’s resolutions…we go through the same routines every New Year – have you made any progress and been successful with your ideas, dreams and goals each year? Some years, yes, and some years not so much
.
Read this final Part 8 of the list to make your life more alive, more connected, more organized and more true to your goals. Here are Part 1, Part 2, Part 3, Part 4, Part 5, Part 6 & Part 7 if you missed them also!
What are your Goals for 2011? It’s helpful to write your answers down.
- What did I accomplish last year?
- What were my biggest disappointments?
- What did I learn? Review answers to 1 and 2. Keep the lessons and let go of the rest.
- How do I limit myself and how can I stop? What do I say to myself that keeps me from succeeding?
- What are my personal values (for example, being a good parent, being an excellent employee)?
- What roles—wife, mother—do I play in my life? Include a role just for you (my caretaker).
- Which role is my major focus for the next year?
- What are my goals for each role? Be specific and focus on the result you want.
- What are my top 10 goals for the next year?
- How can I make sure I achieve my top 10 goals? Figure out how to keep track of goals, i.e., look at them every day or make a deal with a friend and check in with each other once a month. —Jinny Ditzler
