13 favorite games of the Lil’ Duck

63

He’s such a playful little soul, and loves to play games, especially at 2am when the rest of us just want to sleep…. so here are thirteen of his favorite games!

  1. His modified hide-and-seek game, where he seeks ;) .
  2. Peek-a-boo – a forever favorite, though it has now been expanded to covering the duck’s eyes and him covering our eyes.
  3. The tickle monster – now with retaliation from the “button ‘ickle” master!
  4. The clothes chase – any mention of clothes or diapers elicits a mad flight around the house, with him cackling all the while.
  5. 1-2-3-jump!! Off of anything, especially the edge of the pool and the coffee table – jumping from the coffee table to the couch is a fun thing too, apparently.
  6. Speaking of the couch, it’s time to play “toss all the pillows off the couch and cackle hysterically”!!
  7. Hop, bounce, leap – the couch and the bed both make great bouncing places, tho the floor works as well.
  8. Spin me around until I get super dizzy, then I’ll try to walk while laughing hysterically. Good for laughs all the way around!
  9. The alphabet game – we have to point to each letter as it is sung by the alphabet toy, over and over and over. He’ll also single out one letter to repeat over and over again….
  10. Lining random items up and counting them – then knocking them down and starting over!
  11. The kiss psyche – making kissy faces and noises, running towards you, then at the last second running backwards, laughing with glee.
  12. Turning the TV on and off and on and off and on……
  13. “Talking” to the dog – barking, whining, feeding her imaginary tea, playing peek-a-boo, etc.

  1. I’m first! Yay! Good to read what I have to look forward to. Justice hates diaper/clothing changing time–it is a battle. He loves peeka boo and just recently started initiating it on his own. It is so much fun. He is a really cautious child so far and no jumping off things yet. Great stuff! My list is up!

  2. He sounds like lots of fun. Well, maybe not at 2 AM, but otherwise;)

I love the “talking to the dog”. I called one of my friends yesterday, and her little girl was reading a book to the dog (which was in her lap)! Can you tell that I’m a dog person yet! Great list! Sorry, I haven’t been by more often….busy week!

How wonderful that you have such a pretty list to remember… they grow up too fast, enjoy your little one. Only be careful with those jumps from the coffee table to the couch, lol! happy TT! mine is up.

  7. Your #4… we play that game… and of course, it’s always most fun for the little one I’m chasing when her bottom is naked! She runs through the house giggling and squealing.

  8. Janice says:

sounds like so much FUN! i love the kiss psyche – that is a hoot!

  9. Yes.. Children can think of the most amazing things to make into a game. They require very little to entertain them. Usually, they just want our attention… After that they can come up with pretty amazing things…

  10. TC says:

Great TT! I can remember most of those games. The turning the tv on and off one drove me crazy.

  43. AnIowaMom says:

We had “tickle monster” when the boys were little … which has now evolved into “tickle fight” for the boys (and they do it now with Dad exclusively). You’d think we’d have the monster version for the girls, being younger and all, but they actually like to join in to the fight. Hey, what can I say, … I am raising strong girls that will always be able to hang with the boys … until one of them gets their hair pulled anyway.

Thanks for visiting me today. Happy TT!

  44. Don says:

Too funny. Kids are great. 8 & 11 create outstanding visuals. Thanks for visiting my site, too

  45. Renee says:

We used to call dressing “Olympic Toddler Wrestling” because someone around here didn’t want to get dressed and would make me chase her around the house while doing it… I did manage to get the clothes & hair done while chasing her.

Thanks for stopping by the garden…don’t worry about the feathers in the tomatoes. ;)

  46. Regina says:

I tried to get in to your space earlier but I was having server probs… I think that photos number 2 and 3 are so cute, I wouldn’t mind the olympic games to get him dressed!

  1. Thursday 13: Under the Driver’s Seat

I’ve often pondered the nature of the space under the seats in the car.  You know what I’m talking about – that three-inch, not-quite-enough-for-a-canteloupe-but-easily-swallows-a-sneaker sized space that serves as a collector for some of …
